Milestones Program Admissions

Milestones Program Admissions

The admissions process begins with a phone call to our admissions director, Jay Held, at 800.347.2364. Questions about insurances, available admission dates, program details, and the criteria to qualify for participation in our program can be addressed at this time.

As part of the admissions process, you will be asked to participate in an pre-admission evaluation via phone or, if possible, face to face at the center, with one of the members of the clinical staff. The primary purpose of this assessment is to better understand the needs of each person considering treatment at Milestones and to make certain both the level of care and treatment offered will be appropriate for each person seeking to come to Milestones. There is no fee or obligation associated with this service.

The Pre-Admission Assessment – Candidates for the program participate in a structured assessment with one of the clinical team members. The assessment usually takes about 30 minutes to complete via phone or can be completed online or in person. The assessment will focus on such areas as your prior treatment history, medical history, eating disorder history, specific eating disorder behaviors [past and present], family history, related issues, if relevant, [e.g. depression, substance abuse, etc.], current and past estimates of highest and lowest weights as well as an estimate of your present height and weight, and an appraisal of what goals you have for your treatment and ongoing recovery.

As will be mentioned in the section regarding costs, Milestones is fully accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the Agency for Healthcare Administration and, as such, is able to work with most insurances [with the exception of Medicare and Medicaid]. In addition, Milestones is currently contracted with Aetna and Cigna as preferred providers for the treatment of Eating Disorders.

In keeping with our mission statement to provide cost effective care for the greatest majority of individuals needing residential care, we offer a reduced fee for those with limited or no insurance benefits. A call to the admissions office will allow those interested to learn what the eligibility is for these fees as well as the details regarding self pay / out of pocket costs.
